Thomas Freteur was born in Belgium in 1980. During his master in social communication in IHECS (Brussels, 2005), he had his first photo-journalism experience in Cuba during a student-training at the Journalism’s Institute « José Marti ». Since then, he has been working as a freelance photographer in Belgium and abroad. With his project « Palestinians », he explores his passion for human being and the use of art like circus in complex situations. He is especially focus on the thematic of circus around the world. He usually leads photoworkshop for association and NGO’s. With Alice Smeets, they are organizing a longterm photoworkshop in Haiti. His images have been exhibited in La Havana (Cuba), Paris (Destinations sans distinctions), Tournai (la Piste aux Espoirs), Burnmag (curated by Magnum Photographer David Alan Harvey), Brussels (Theater KVS). Clients include : Aarhus Press, DCCD Danemark, Talkmag, Imagine, View Mag, Vers l’avenir, etc.
