FORGOTTEN PEASANTS by Pauline Beugnies

The Egyptians fellahin (peasants) - icons of a nearly food-sufficient country - are endangered. The aftermath of the January 2011 events is adding problems to an already very corrupted system, handicapped since the reforms of the 90’s. Those who are feeding Egypt are marginalized in the public and political debate. And every day, they have fewer resources to survive.

NORTH KIVU : THE CHAOS CYCLE by Colin Delfosse
On November 20th 2012, the M23 rebel group took the city of Goma, capital of the North Kivu province, in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This event drowned the country a little more in a chaos cycle that it has embodied since almost twenty years.

THE LAST DAYS OF THE MAGIC SLUM by Thomas Vanden Driessche

In the maze formed by the stinking and unhealthy alleys of Kathputli slum, the strange, the unconventional or event the magic can strike at any moment. Nearly half a century ago, the members of the Bhatt family, gypsy puppeteers from Rajasthan, put their tents in the middle of a wasteland in the northern suburb of Delhi.

The musical duo Les Anchoises was born from the desire to share music with people and ask nothing in return. Les Anchoises are like a living jukebox.
They visited their grandparents to build a bridge between generations and answer the question:
how has music accompanied their grandparents throughout their long lives?

Lauching "Tahir Generation" webdocumentary

Come and discover the Sanatorium of Kurpati on the Black Sea, one of the major Soviet architecture masterpieces. Everything is gathered for a healthy and friendly stay. Nowadays, despite history’s instability, it has been kept unchanged. Frost in time, it continues to welcome unionized holyday-makers from Russia, Ukraine and Belorussia.

A photojournalistic approach of the following polygones: the Semipalatinsk nuclear bombs test-site, the USSR air shield polygone of Sary Shagan, and Baikonur, the star race showcase of the Cold War era. Exhibition open until the 4 of november.

Thomas Vanden Driessche taking part to the FOTO 8 Summer Show in London

From 7 July to 18 August 2012, Thomas is taking part with his serie "Marchers" to the Foto8 Summershow, London’s greatest photographic spectacle, a veritable ‘salon de photographie’, an inspiring array of framed of all shapes and sizes, installed from floor to ceiling.
